In 15 hours we will be landing…
In ~35 hours we will be driving to Germany for a wedding.
In 1 week we will be in Venice.
In 2 weeks, we'll be on our way to Paris again.
In 3 weeks we'll be home.
And guess what? … In 3 weeks, someone will win a $100 gift certificate to Restaurant.com!
I received it as a gift, but I can't do anything with it. I couldn't find any restaurants in my area that I wanted to visit, so I decided the only right thing to do was to pass it on to my *loving* readers!
a Rafflecopter giveaway
This will most likely be my last post in the A-Z challenge. I have had a blast participating. For the month of May, as much as possible, I will be attempting to have 31 Days of Happiness (my take on 100 happy days). I will be sharing things that make me happy once a day and tweet when I can't or I am too busy to blog. This month is looking pretty busy with 2.5 weeks in Europe and a weekend in Florida, but I'm excited about being HAPPY! Will you join me? #HappyDaysAreHereAgain :)
* Participate in the A-Z blogging challenge with me! You know you want to! :)
Have a wonderful trip!

DeleteDon't overpack! Just go with the flow and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThat's my problem! over packing......
DeleteI agree with the tip not to overpack. Underpacking is my excuse to buy souvenirs that I love and will use!
DeleteIf I win I think I would go to Ganesha Indian Cuisine, Sweets & Catering. There are many cuisines that I can cook successfully at home but Indian is not one of them!
DeleteYes, pack as light as you can. You'll be glad you did. Make sure you have very comfortable shoes.
Deleteslehan at juno dot com
Don't take more that 2 or 3 pairs of shoes and make sure they're all comfortable.
Deleteslehan at juno dot com
Great advice not to overpack! I have learned that lesson many times over!
Deletethats a mistake i always make. overpacking! lol
DeleteI don't have a suggestion of things to do other than take plenty of pictures. and have fun
DeleteI ALWAYS overpack. I'm trying to get better at not doing it though… Great excuse to go shopping! :)
DeleteFor a European vac a - I would have to ponder packing three weeks ahead of time - to many decisions ...
DeleteI would go to Nick's Kitchen in Huntington, IN
ReplyDeleteIt's a small world! I also live in Huntington! :)
DeleteI spent a day in Paris on a Europe trip with my family, but I've never been to Italy or Germany. We took the Eurostar from London and mostly spent the day walking around the Île de la Cité in Paris. Travel tips in general - don't leave your valuables in your hotel room (in Europe I carried my passport in my purse at all times, just wrapped the purse strap around my wrist and tucked the bag under my arm), pack lightly but don't scrimp on what you really want to bring, and keep a sense of humor and sense of adventure because when you're traveling some things go well, some things go wrong, and it's all part of the fun!
DeleteMy niece lives there she said that place is yummy
DeleteIHOP is my kids favorite!
ReplyDeleteI would def go to Texas de brazil. It is so yummy
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go to Ibiza, a local Tapas place!

ReplyDeleteLonghorn is awesome. I love their menu
DeleteLonghorn is great! I hear you on the date night...it is nice to know that others don't manage to get out that often either. Once you have kids it is tough to make the time!
DeleteIt's just so hard to find a babysitter! Usually date nights are kind of spur of the moment. I feel awful asking others to give up a night so we can have one. Ah the joys. :)
DeleteOh man. I want to go to France sooooooo badly. My husband lived in Paris for two years. He says be sure to go to the museums. They're everything they're cracked up to be.

ReplyDeleteI wish I had specific recommendations, but I have never been to France, Italy, or Germany. Maybe someday! My favorite traveling tip has always been to bring things that do not wrinkle easily and roll them rather than folding in a suitcase. Since I have started rolling clothing I end up with far less creasing and wrinkling. :)
ReplyDeleteI just thought of another travel tip since I am packing for an extended weekend getaway right now. I always use straws to separate my necklaces so that they will not get tangled. Just slip one side of the chain through the straw and then connect the clasp. It saves me a lot of stress and time detangling!

ReplyDeleteMy husband used a jacket with 30 pockets. It was great for concealing things, and the sleeves could even be taken off and the jacket worn as a vest. I do have to say it was pretty easy to lose things in a 30 pocket jacket/vest though!

ReplyDeleteMy mother says that while you are in Italy you HAVE to try some real Italian Gellato. She says that the stuff you buy in grocery stores here is no comparison!
ReplyDeleteThis is very true. Gelato in Italy is one of a kind.
DeleteI would go to Piropos Restaurant in KC!

Pack less than you think you need. Your eyes are always bigger than your suitcase.

The husband says "look up musee d'orsay(RER-C or 12 metro-solferino), and of course , the best view of the Eiffel Tower is at the trocadero on line 9 or 6. Also a good place to visit if you like modern art is The Pompidou Modern Art Museum which is a 2 block walk from Chaltet Le Hales metro stop.
