Let me get straight to the point: Purex Crystals are awesome. They make laundry smell wonderful, and (according to my parents) they come in handy when cleaning up after puppies. When I went to search google for other strategic ways to use Purex Crystals around the house, I couldn't find any! Are there any? Voice your opinion in the comments for a chance to win a Fantabulously Fresh Purex Crystals Limited Edition product coupon.

An extra rinse at the end helps get my whites whiter :)
ReplyDeleteu can put the purex crystals inside your own homemade laundry soap. to get more out of it.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I will have to try that. :)
Deleteanother way to whiten clothes without bleach is vinegar and baking soda.
ReplyDeleteGood idea I will have to try this
DeleteSpring is here in Colorado: 70 degrees today and tomorrow. Then snow and 30 degrees on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the contest.
slehan at juno dot com
That must be nice. It's already nearly 80 degrees some days in Georgia. Maybe I should fly up to Colorado. I want more 70 degree weather! :)
DeleteI don't use bleach. My whites seem to stay white just fine with regular washing.
ReplyDeleteslehan at juno dot com
I don't know of any other uses, but would love to hear other suggestions!
ReplyDeleteandysavi.mom@gmail.com

I keep a little sachet of the crystals in my locker at work!
ReplyDeleteI have liners in my cats litterboxes and a put a satchel of non liquid laundry detergent under the liner and it keeps the litter boxes smelling so much better.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea. I've never heard of anyone doing that. :)
DeleteI have always used oxiclean for bad stains. It is also great for keeping white clothes nice and bright.
ReplyDeletevinagar gets clothes white with out bleach.
ReplyDeleteheather hgtempaddy@hotmail.com
You can put Purex crystals in a plastic cup and put it in a cup holder to deodorize your car.
ReplyDeleteheather hgtempaddy@hotmail.com
I say they would make a pretty airfreshner!
ReplyDeleteDepends on the shirt sometimes if a stain is deep I'll add peroxide.
ReplyDeleteI cannot hold it in, I am going to Italy with my hubbie in June!
ReplyDeleteYAY! That is sooooo awesome!! Where in Italy are you going? :)
DeleteHere is a secret...use WHINK rust stain remover on whites with rust and they look good as new! I have been doing this for at least 25 years!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I wish you knew the name; I would love to try it. Maybe google will have the answer. :-/
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I love it! You get to come out to a nice smelling car! :)
ReplyDeletei would def put a few in the bathrooms :) senior06chs@aol.com
ReplyDeletefunny post and for me from Africa who barely knows all such stuff, it's a great discovery!
ReplyDeleteI would also use them as some kind of potpourri or air freshner
ReplyDeleteI use a stain stick
ReplyDeleteWash clothes in cold
ReplyDeleteThat saves energy, but does it do anything for the clothes?
DeleteNo, I'm not sure how else you can use crystals!
ReplyDeleteI usually use oxiclean to whiten clothes.
ReplyDeleteI have only used them on my clothes
ReplyDeletehrddiana556@gmail.com
To get clothes white without bleach, dry them in the sun outside.

I do the same thing. It really helps to brighten them.
DeleteI've only used them for laundry so far. They might work as a sachet or odor eater in gym shoes if you put them in a mesh bag.

What an interesting idea!
ReplyDeleteYes, other than using them in the laundry, you could put some crystals in a sock or a pretty pouch and use them in your drawers.
ReplyDeleteMy secret for getting clothes white without bleach is using some baking soda.
ReplyDeleteI line dry my white clothes in the summer to get them brighter.
ReplyDeleteAnother use for the purex crystals would be to pour them in a bowl or put in a satchet to make the bathroom or even a suitcase smell better.
ReplyDeleteI never thought about using laundry crystals for another purpose. But I'm sure using them as a scent booster to put in a small "breathable" bag and put in your clothing drawers would make them smell awesome!
ReplyDeleteI use the booster crystals in sachets and put them in my drawers. Every time I open a draw I get a little burst of freshness! :)
ReplyDeleteI get stains out of my white clothes by using Shout it works great and I have used it for years! :)
ReplyDeleteI actually don't know any other ways to use purex crystals. They smell so good though. I love them as a fabric softener. anne
ReplyDeleteWhiten my clothes? I'm not sure what does that as bleach does. But, to help clean my clothes, I use borax or I presoak with a little detergent in the sink...those helps w/ various stains:)
ReplyDeletei just try to treat the stains and keep the whites together!
ReplyDeletei have heard of people putting them in the tealight candle wax burner things instead of the wax and they make your house smell like fresh laundry!
ReplyDeletei will have to give that a try
DeleteI really don't have a tip for keeping clothes white without bleach. I guess that's why I don't own white clothes.
ReplyDeleteIf there was a like button, I would be using it. :) Perhaps I should avoid getting white clothes in the future. ;)
DeletePut some crystals in a sock and put it in your sock drawer to keep it smelling nice.
ReplyDeleteI at times use Iron Out. But many times use vinegar in my laundry.
ReplyDeleteI love the color blue!
ReplyDeleteMe too! :)
DeleteTo be perfectly honest, I just try not to own very many white things... ha... I'm constantly spilling coffee on myself!
ReplyDeleteI completely understand! Stains are much harder to see on darker colors. (Unless the stain is bleach. Argh.)
DeleteWe love Purex crystals, but I can't think of another way to use them... maybe put them in a jar around a candle? T' would smell amazing and look cute!
ReplyDeleteI soak my clothes in iron out to get stains out.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of iron out. Thanks! I'll have to look it up. :)
DeleteI wonder if the cats would still use the litter box if I threw a few crystals in to help with the smell?
ReplyDeleteGood question! You can let us know if you find out!
DeleteI have stopped using bleach with hubby's whites as it tends to eat the clothes.
ReplyDeleteI have been using the detergent with added Oxy instead.
Sometimes I use the Naptha bar to scrub stains too.
Never thought about Naptha, I will definitely have to try it!
DeletePut them in a sash and hang it from the vents in your car!!!
ReplyDeletePine sol.. I dont know how it works, but it does! Grandma taught me that one years ago!!!!!
ReplyDeleteair freshener
ReplyDeletehydrogen peroxide
ReplyDeleteI put them in a piece of fabric and close it with a rubber band as an air freshener for my truck. It smells so good! Thank you for the great giveaway :)
ReplyDeletesue-hull64 at comcast dot net
I don't bleach my whites. I know peroxide works too :)
ReplyDeleteI have always put a little vinegar in with whites, my Grandma always did.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of using crystals other than in laundry but thinking about it I think it would be awesome to fill a vase with them.
